Devils' Nico Hischier: Nets lone goal in loss
Hischier scored a goal on four shots in Thursday's 3-1 loss to the Islanders.
Hischier has four goals and an assist over his last seven outings. The 27-year-old center is up to 19 goals, 42 points, 151 shots on net, 42 hits, 47 blocked shots and a minus-10 rating over 57 appearances. He'll now head to Italy to represent Switzerland at the Olympics.

Devils' Jake Allen: Comes up short against Isles
Allen stopped 11 of 13 shots in Thursday's 3-1 loss to the Islanders, with New York's final goal getting scored into an empty net.
The 35-year-old was locked in a 1-1 goaltending duel with Ilya Sorokin through two periods and even picked up an assist on Nico Hischier's tally, but Bo Horvat slipped a puck past Allen late in the final frame to put the visitors on top. Allen is probably looking forward to the Olympic break, having lost three straight starts and six of seven since the beginning of January while posting a 3.08 GAA and .880 save percentage.

Devils' Colton White: Returns to AHL
White was reassigned to AHL Utica on Thursday.
White didn't make an appearance during this stint with the big club, serving as a spare defenseman. His time with the AHL during the Olympic break will prevent him from accruing time in regards to when he would need to clear waivers again.

Devils' Lenni Hameenaho: Heading to AHL
Hameenaho was reassigned to AHL Utica on Thursday.
Hameenaho has earned four points over nine NHL outings this season. He'll played regularly during the Olympic break, as he'll spend most or all of it with the AHL club.

Devils' Jake Allen: Drawing start Thursday
Allen will defend the home crease against the Islanders on Thursday, Kristy Flannery of The Hockey News reports.
Allen has struggled since the beginning of the calendar year, going 1-5-0 with a 3.25 GAA and .883 save percentage over his last six starts. He'll have a favorable matchup in the Devils' final game before the Olympic break, as the Islanders are scoring 2.84 goals per game this year, which is tied for the eighth-worst mark in the league.

Devils' Juho Lammikko: Sent down to minors
Lammikko was reassigned to AHL Utica on Wednesday.
Lammikko's demotion will ensure he can keep playing during the NHL's Olympic break. However, it could be an indication that he's the odd man out following the Devils' acquisition of Nick Bjugstad from St. Louis on Wednesday. In his 24 games for New Jersey this season, the 30-year-old Lammikko failed to find the back of the net while recording 15 shots on net and two assists.

Devils' Nick Bjugstad: Involved in trade
Bjugstad was acquired by New Jersey from St. Louis on Wednesday in exchange for Thomas Bordeleau and a conditional 2026 fourth-round draft pick.
Bjugstad had six goals, seven points, 25 PIM and 73 hits in 35 outings with St. Louis in 2025-26 before the trade. He'll probably be limited to a bottom-six role with the Devils, but that might still result in him getting more ice time than the 11:38 he averaged with the Blues this season.

Devils' Jack Hughes: Remains unavailable against Isles
Hughes (lower body) will not be an option versus the Islanders on Thursday, Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site reports.
Hughes will miss his third straight game, as the medical staff doesn't feel comfortable giving him the green light yet. His availability for the 2026 Winter Olympics is unclear, but he remains day-to-day. Before getting hurt, the 24-year-old center was rolling offensively with 12 points in his last 11 games, including one goal and five helpers with the man advantage.

Devils' Jacob Markstrom: Gets no help in loss
Markstrom stopped 23 of 25 shots in Tuesday's 3-0 loss to the Blue Jackets, with the third goal being an empty-netter.
He was locked in a goaltending duel with Elvis Merzlikins through two periods, but Markstrom saw his shutout slip away when Dante Fabbro snuck a shot through traffic early in the final frame. Markstrom has found his feet since a nine-goal disaster against the Islanders on Jan. 6, and over his last eight starts he's gone 5-3-0 with a 2.49 GAA and .897 save percentage.

Devils' Jacob Markstrom: Tending twine Tuesday
Markstrom will patrol the home crease against Columbus on Tuesday, Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site reports.
Markstrom is coming off a 27-save performance in Thursday's 3-2 overtime win over Nashville. He has a 15-12-1 record this campaign with a 3.24 GAA and an .881 save percentage through 29 appearances. Columbus is tied for 17th in the league with 3.09 goals per game this season.

Devils' Jack Hughes: Not playing against Jackets
Hughes (lower body) will not be in the lineup versus Columbus on Tuesday, Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site reports.
Hughes remains hopeful of playing in Thursday's clash with the Islanders, which would be a nice tune-up ahead of his participation in the 2026 Winter Olympics with Team USA. If Hughes does play against the Blue Jackets, he figures to reclaim his spot on the first line and No. 1 power-play unit.

Devils' Cody Glass: Slides helper in return
Glass supplied an assist, placed three shots on net and blocked two shots in Saturday's 4-1 loss to the Senators.
Following his one-game absence due to an undisclosed injury, Glass picked up the primary helper on Timo Meier's lone goal of the game for New Jersey. Overall, Glass is up to six assists, 19 points, 76 shots on net, 30 hits and 26 blocked shots across 43 games this season. Since Jan. 11, the 26-year-old center has played his best hockey of the campaign with 10 points in as many games. With 13 goals, he is just one away from matching his career high from the 2022-23 regular season. He centered the top line Saturday in the absence of Jack Hughes (lower body). If Glass can maintain a top-six role, he could be a solid streaming option.

Devils' Timo Meier: Scores lone goal in loss
Meier tallied a goal, placed three shots on net and dished out five hits in Saturday's 4-1 loss to Ottawa.
Meier placed the lone blemish on Linus Ullmark's triumphant return for Ottawa with a goal late in the first period. Overall, Meier is up to 14 goals, 28 points, 169 shots on net, 89 hits and 32 blocked shots across 50 appearances this season. Despite his slow start to the new year offensively, the 29-year-old winger has remained involved with a steady stream of category-coverage stats. While Meier's fantasy value is fading in standard fantasy leagues, his 169 shots on goal rank 16th in the NHL, making him a solid option in category-based leagues.

Devils' Jake Allen: Yields three goals in loss
Allen stopped 30 of 33 shots on net in Saturday's 4-1 loss to the Senators.
Allen allowed just one goal across the first two periods before the Senators scored two goals against him in the third. With the loss, the 35-year-old netminder now holds a 12-13-1 record, a 2.68 GAA and a .907 save percentage across 27 appearances this season. Since the calendar flipped to 2026, the veteran netminder has struggled to find the win column with a 1-5-0 record over six starts. Allen is best left on waivers in fantasy until he can compile multiple wins in a row, which he hasn't done since mid-December. His next chance to bounce back is in Tuesday's home clash against the Blue Jackets.

Devils' Nico Hischier: Good to go
Hischier (illness) is slated to play in Saturday's game versus the Senators.
Hischier was considered a game-time decision after missing the morning skate, but he's ready to give it a go. Expect the Swiss center to play on the second line and see time in all situations. Juho Lammikko will remain out of the lineup.
