Trey Hendrickson CIN DE
Bengals' Trey Hendrickson: Won't play without new deal
3h agoHendrickson said at Tuesday's voluntary practice session that he will not play this season under his current contract, which has one year remaining and carries a $15.8 million base salary, Ben Baby of ESPN reports.
Hendrickson released a statement Monday expressing frustration with a lack of communication from the Bengals regarding a potential contract extension, and he now appears to be escalating his standoff with the team. The reigning NFL sacks leader, who is coming off back-to-back seasons with 17.5 sacks, said Tuesday that the situation has reached a "personal" level, but he also expressed optimism that his relationship with the team could be mended. Cincinnati signed both Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins to massive four-year deals well in excess of $100 million this offseason, but per Charlie Goldsmith of the Dayton Daily News, Hendrickson said the team has pushed a shorter contract "pretty hard" in his negotiations. The Bengals' selection of Shemar Stewart at No. 17 overall in the 2025 NFL Draft provides the team some insurance at edge rusher, but Hendrickson's presence on the field will be all but necessary for Cincinnati to field a competitive defense this season. The 30-year-old All-Pro was given permission to seek a trade in March, and there should be no shortage of teams around the league interested in his talents.

Bengals' Trey Hendrickson: Attends voluntary practice
4h agoHendrickson is present for Tuesday's voluntary practice session, though he is not participating in drills, Jason Hoffman of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Hendrickson is present at team facilities Tuesday, after having released a statement Monday detailing his dissatisfaction with the Bengals' lack of communication regarding a long-term extension. Speaking with the media during Tuesday's practice, Hendrickson reiterated that he is "very disappointed with the communication" from Cincinnati, per Charlie Goldsmith of the Dayton Daily News, and per Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic, answered "no" when asked whether he would play on his current deal. Hendrickson also said the Bengals have been pushing a short-term extension "pretty hard" during the contract talks that have occurred, Goldsmith reports. The 2024 NFL sacks leader is entering the final year of his current contract and carries a $15.8 million base salary for the 2025 season. He was granted permission to seek a trade back in March.

Asante Samuel Jr. LAC CB
Asante Samuel: Underwent neck surgery
19h agoSamuel (neck/shoulder) underwent neck surgery in April, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
Samuel will have a check-up appointment in July. The 25-year-old free agent cornerback visited with the Saints on Monday, but he will reconvene with interested teams once deemed fully healthy. Samuel appeared in just four regular-season games last season due to shoulder and neck issues. He's aiming to return to the field in 2025.

Caden Prieskorn DET TE
Caden Prieskorn: Let go by Detroit
19h agoPrieskorn was waived by the Lions on Monday.
The tight end initially signed with the Lions as an undrafted free agent after the draft, but he was cut to make room for Luke Deal after the team's rookie minicamp over the weekend, per Jeff Risdon of USA Today. Prieskorn caught 57 passes for 850 yards and seven touchdowns in 23 games at Ole Miss, but he projects more as a run blocker in the pros due to his physicality and lack of speed.
-
Malik Taylor NYJ WR
Lions' Malik Taylor: Pops up in Detroit
20h agoTaylor signed with the Lions on Monday.
The wide receiver was placed on injured reserve with an undisclosed issue by the Jets in August of last year and didn't appear in any 2024 regular-season games. His best season came in 2020 with the Packers, when he caught five passes for 66 yards and a score. Taylor faces an uphill climb for a roster spot behind established pros Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jameson Williams, Tim Patrick and Kalif Raymond and 2025 draft picks Isaac TeSlaa and Dominic Lovett.
-
Thomas Yassmin DEN TE
Thomas Yassmin: Waived by Denver
21h agoYassmin was waived by the Broncos on Monday, Aric DiLalla of the team's official site reports.
The tight end from Sydney, Australia signed with the Broncos as an undrafted free agent May 11 of last year, hung on with the team through 2024 as a member of its practice squad and signed a reserve/future contract in January. Now, he'll have to look elsewhere for his next opportunity. In 2023, his final collegiate season at Utah, Yassmin caught eight passes for 89 yards and a touchdown across five games.

Zak Kent CLE RP
Guardians' Zak Kent: Back in majors
3m agoThe Guardians recalled Kent from Triple-A Columbus on Tuesday, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.
Kent has made two relief appearances with the big club this season, allowing one run with a 5:2 K:BB over four innings. He'll give the bullpen a fresh arm after it was needed to cover six frames in Monday's win over the Brewers.
-
Ben Lively CLE SP
Guardians' Ben Lively: Lands on IL with flexor strain
6m agoThe Guardians placed Lively on the 15-day injured list Tuesday with a right flexor strain, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.
Lively was forced from Monday's start versus the Brewers with what was called right forearm inflammation at the time, but subsequent testing has revealed a more serious injury. It's not clear at this point how long he might be sidelined, but it will undoubtedly be longer than a minimum stay on the IL. Kolby Allard threw three scoreless innings Monday after Lively exited and looks to be the most likely candidate to fill Livey's rotation spot in the short term.
-
Luke Jackson TEX RP
Rangers' Luke Jackson: Hand still swollen
7m agoJackson's hand is still swollen but he was optimistic Tuesday, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Jackson reportedly has a decent amount of strength and is squeezing a stress ball as he looks to avoid an IL stint after getting hit on the hand by a comebacker Monday. Jacob Webb got the save after Jackson exited, but Chris Martin or Robert Garcia could also be options to get saves while Jackson is unavailable.
-
Jason Foley DET RP
Tigers' Jason Foley: Season-ending surgery needed
11m agoFoley underwent season-ending shoulder surgery, Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports.
Foley got 28 saves for the Tigers last year but didn't make the team out of spring training. He was effective at Triple-A prior to his injury, tossing 6.2 scoreless innings with nine strikeouts and zero walks across five appearances. It's unclear what specific shoulder surgery Foley needed or if he'll be healthy for spring training.
-
Drew Waters KC LF
Royals' Drew Waters: Out of Royals' lineup
15m agoWater is absent from the lineup for Tuesday's game in Houston.
It's a routine day off for Waters, who has been a regular over the past month while bouncing around to all three outfield spots. The Royals are going with Mark Canha, Kyle Isbel and Hunter Renfroe in the outfield Tuesday.
-
Coco Montes TB 2B
Rays' Coco Montes: Recalled from Triple-A
18m agoMontes was recalled from Triple-A Durham on Tuesday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Yandy Diaz was placed on the restricted list in a corresponding move, and the Rays are already undermanned, so Montes could get some playing time in the short term. The 28-year-old utility player slashed .279/.340/.384 with one home run, three steals and a 23.4 percent strikeout rate in 22 games at Triple-A.
-
Mitchell Robinson NY C
Knicks' Mitchell Robinson: Pulls down eight boards
5h agoRobinson provided four points (2-2 FG), eight rebounds and two assists over 25 minutes during Monday's 121-113 win over the Celtics in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
Robinson and Miles McBride are the only reserves to see ample playing time in the postseason, and that could remain the case for the foreseeable future. In 10 postseason games, Robinson averages 4.1 points, 6.5 rebounds and 0.8 steals in 18.6 minutes.
-
Josh Hart NY SF
Knicks' Josh Hart: Struggles with shot
5h agoHart registered six points (2-7 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 1-2 FT), nine rebounds, five assists and one steal across 30 minutes during Monday's 121-113 win over the Celtics in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
This wasn't Hart's night offensively, but he continues to do all the little things on the court that don't always translate to the stat sheet. Across four games of this series, Hart averages 13.3 points, 8.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 1.0 blocks, 0.8 steals and 1.3 three-pointers.
-
Al Horford BOS C
Celtics' Al Horford: Quiet in Game 4 loss
5h agoHorford ended Monday's 121-113 loss to the Knicks in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals with five points (1-2 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, four assists and two steals across 37 minutes.
Jayson Tatum suffered an apparent right lower-leg injury and is scheduled to undergo an MRI on Tuesday, so the odds are stacked against Boston with the franchise facing a 3-1 series deficit. If Tatum cannot play in Game 5, Horford would likely need to soak up some usage for the Celtics after attempting a mere two shots in Game 4.
-
Payton Pritchard BOS PG
Celtics' Payton Pritchard: Scores 12 points in Game 4
5h agoPritchard supplied 12 points (4-10 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT) and one steal across 20 minutes during Monday's 121-113 loss to the Knicks in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
Jayson Tatum wasn't able to return to Game 4 due to an apparent right lower-leg injury, and he is scheduled to undergo an MRI on Tuesday. The Celtics are using a very tight rotation in the playoffs, and if Tatum is forced to miss time, Pritchard would likely be the player to step into a featured role for Boston.
-
Kristaps Porzingis BOS C
Celtics' Kristaps Porzingis: Struggles continue in Game 4
5h agoPorzingis racked up seven points (2-6 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 3-6 FT), four rebounds and one steal in 24 minutes during Monday's 121-113 loss to the Knicks in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
Porzingis has played off the bench in the Celtics' last three games and had another dismal showing against his former team, failing to reach double-digit points for the fourth time in four games in the series. The Celtics need more from Porzingis, especially if Jayson Tatum (lower leg) ends up missing time after departing Monday's game with an injury. Porzingis is averaging 5.0 points and 4.0 rebounds per game in the series.
-
Jaylen Brown BOS SF
Celtics' Jaylen Brown: Comes close to double-double
5h agoBrown finished Monday's 121-113 loss to the Knicks in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals with 20 points (7-16 FG, 2-8 3Pt, 4-6 FT), seven rebounds and two assists over 33 minutes.
Brown ended just three boards shy of a double-double, and he's been remarkably consistent as a scoring weapon for the Celtics. However, he's taken on a more secondary role behind Jayson Tatum (lower leg) and Derrick White. Brown has scored at least 19 points in eight consecutive playoff appearances and is averaging 20.5 points per game in the current series against the Knicks.
-
Connor Hellebuyck WPG G
Jets' Connor Hellebuyck: Set to start Game 4
2h agoHellebuyck is expected to defend the road net against Dallas on Tuesday in Game 4, per John Lu of TSN.
Hellebuyck allowed five goals on 26 shots in Sunday's 5-2 loss to the Stars in Game 3. He has lost four straight road outings this postseason while surrendering 21 goals on 92 shots. Hellebuyck has a 5-5 record with one shutout, a 3.51 GAA and an .848 save percentage during the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
-
Jake Oettinger DAL G
Stars' Jake Oettinger: Defending home blue paint Tuesday
2h agoOettinger is scheduled to tend the home twine Tuesday against the Jets in Game 4, per Mike Heika of the Stars' official site.
Oettinger has turned aside 74 of 81 shots (.914 save percentage) while winning two of the first three games in this series. The Stars are getting a massive lift in Game 4, as Miro Heiskanen (knee) was activated off long-term injured reserve Tuesday and will be in the lineup for the first time since Jan. 28. Through 10 playoff contests, the Jets have scored 29 goals and have put 27.6 shots on goal per game. Oettinger is one victory away from reaching 30 in his postseason career.
-
Miro Heiskanen DAL D
Stars' Miro Heiskanen: Removed from LTIR
2h agoHeiskanen (knee) was activated from long-term injured reserve Tuesday.
As expected, Heiskanen appears ready to return to the lineup versus Winnipeg on Tuesday in Game 4. After missing 42 straight outings, the Stars might ease Heiskanen back into the fold by dressing seven defensemen and 11 forwards. However, he could still occupy a top-pairing role and see power-play time. Heiskanen had five goals, 25 points, 108 shots on net and 85 blocked shots across 50 appearances during the 2024-25 regular season.
-
Calvin Pickard EDM G
Oilers' Calvin Pickard: Still DTD ahead of Game 5
3h agoPickard (undisclosed) remains day-to-day ahead of Game 5 against the Golden Knights on Wednesday, according to Ryan Rishaug of TSN.
After winning six straight outings and helping the Oilers move forward in their postseason run, Pickard has missed back-to-back games as a result of an undisclosed injury. Stuart Skinner posted a 23-save shutout in Monday's 3-0 win in Game 4, so Pickard will likely be relegated to the No. 2 netminding gig when he's ready to return to the lineup. Skinner may not have a long leash, though, as he holds a 3.95 GAA and an .857 save percentage over four playoff appearances. Edmonton can advance to the Western Conference Final with a victory in Las Vegas on Wednesday.
-
Logan Stanley WPG D
Jets' Logan Stanley: Healthy scratch Tuesday
4h agoStanley has moved past his undisclosed injury but will be a healthy scratch against the Stars on Tuesday in Game 4, according to Mike McIntyre of the Winnipeg Free Press.
Stanley took the ice for pregame warmups prior to Game 3 on Sunday but didn't end up playing. He last suited up against the Blues in Game 6 of the first round. Haydn Fleury will continue to fill a third-pairing role alongside Colin Miller on Tuesday.
-
Evan Rodrigues FLA C
Panthers' Evan Rodrigues: Practices Tuesday
4h agoRodrigues (undisclosed) participated in Tuesday's practice, but it remains unclear if he will play in Wednesday's Game 5 matchup against Toronto, Jameson Olive of the Panthers' official site reports.
Rodrigues logged 12:32 of ice time before leaving Sunday's 2-0 win over Maple Leafs in Game 4. He has produced three assists, 16 shots on goal and 19 hits in nine appearances this postseason. If Rodrigues is out for Game 5, Mackie Samoskevich or Jesper Boqvist could be in the lineup against Toronto on Wednesday.
